Socotherm LaBarge’s Offshore Five Layer Insulation coating is a Multi-layer Polypropylene application process that results in a combination of anticorrosion and thermal insulating materials coated by a system known as the Multi-Pass process. These coatings are especially appropriate for all deep water, offshore pipeline projects that face the challenges of temperature limitations and highly pressurized conditions. These stringent requirements are met by combining different types of Polypropylene compounds, specifically Syntactic Polypropylene, to create a protective, insulated layer around sub-sea pipelines.

We offer three unique Five Layer Thermal Insulation Coating options:

• Five Layer Solid Polypropylene (5LSPP)

  
• Five Layer Polypropylene Foam (5LPPF)

  
• Five Layer Syntactic Polypropylene (5LSyntPP)

  

All of these coatings are applied using the Multi-Pass system in which individual pieces are fed through the process continuously to be re-coated until the required thickness is achieved. The benefits of using the Multi-Pass system include the following:
