Internal Flow Linings are typically used in gas lines to increase the flow efficiency of the pipe. Before application, the inner diameter is cleaned of any interfering elements such as mill scale, rust, moisture, and organic contaminants. The liquid coating components are then applied and cured to appropriate thicknesses.
Benefits of Internal Flow Lining can affect many aspects of pipelines. The coating reduces the inner surface roughness, allowing for greater and faster thru-put as well as reducing power consumption. Testing has proven that flow rates on internally coated lines are increased from 6% to 12% in comparison with uncoated lines. This process also prevents corrosion during storage and decreases the amount of line maintenance required, leading to an overall capital expenditure reduction for operating costs and compression equipment.
Our Internal Coating Plant can accommodate a variety of pipe dimensions. The coating line can handle steel pipe with an outer diameter of 12” to 48” and with lengths of 28’ (8.5 meters) to 86’ (26.5 meters).
